    3. HI all, As most of you know, I take a break from Nov 1 to Jan 15. This year I'm trying, but it's not happening LOL. Okay, let's see what's been going on. Louise has finished her end of the data input on the Obituary index cards. THANK YOU so very much Louise for all the hours you put in on this project. I hope all of the Huerfano County researchers can appreciate the time and effort you have spent, I know I sure do! The letters A through J, and U, W-Z are all done and posted. The rest are only waiting to be proofed and then I can post them also. So I don't expect it to be much longer before this project is done. And of course, we have Dick to thank also. Without him this would not have happened! THANK YOU Dick. Louise is now back on the Obituaries, adding to them and getting them ready for another posting. She is breaking the pages down even more and hopefully they will load faster. If any of you request obits from the library, PLEASE contribute them to the Obituary database. In this way, the pages will continue to grow, you will be honoring your ancestors, and also preserving those obits for generations to come. Louise has dedicated so very many hours and expertise to this project as our Coordinator, it's the least we can do to help her out. All you have to do is type up the obit, including the date and name of paper and send it to Louise at LAdams2341@aol.com or to me at km1109@aculink.net , either one of us can handle them from this end. This morning I posted 4 more Oral Interviews: Alfredo Archuleta Ermer Andreatta Maria Batuello Neal Baysinger Again, we have Dick to thank for these also, as he has been scanning and doing the OCR, then I proof them. We are now tossing around ideas to distribute the rest of the interviews so we can get some help getting them done and online. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have them ALL online? I know all of you could appreciate that. It can happen if we get enough volunteers. I will be letting you know in January how this is going to be done and will ask for your help at that time. No one does much during the Holidays so we'll wait until January to get this project rolling. But keep it in mind because I'm depending on all of you to help get this done. Our Taylor is still working on extracting the obituary data for the cemetery and veterans pages. She has really been a trooper. When she finishes her current assignment she has offered to pick up any stragglers that we haven't done yet. If all of you remember, we started this project over a year ago and she has been relentless ever since. THANK YOU Taylor! We have a new contributor. Theresa Bright sent in a 1914 class photo and graduation announcement from the La Veta Union High School. My apologies to Theresa for not getting this posted yet, seems there's not enough hours in the day. It will be up within a couple days, promise! THANK YOU Theresa for your contribution to our web pages. You see, every little bit helps and adds to the history of this area. Anyone else have something to contribute? Come on folks, we need more contributors and volunteers to keep these pages growing. And please remember to thank all of the people that are helping out. The more they're appreciated, the more data you're going to see. If you can't contribute, please try to give moral support to those who do. Dick was here yesterday and by the time he got here I had pulled out containers from the file room (walk-in closet) so we could get to the file cabinets. (He was so happy to see my office a mess.) Well anyway I started pulling out stuff to show him what we need done and there was some I had forgotten about! Geez, I copied some of these records back in early 1980 and hadn't seen them since LOL. Well lo and behold, here was a nice stack of marriage records that we don't have online. Guess it pays to tear things up once in awhile. And beings Dick was so happy to see such a mess he gets to come back over and put it all away again (duckin - runnin). LOL We have some big plans for all this stuff so stay tuned. And please remember, if there's anything you want to see on our pages or any critiques you want to make or suggestions, just let me know. And if any of you are wondering why I've slowed down, well it's this little 2 year old sitting on my lap that's here every day of the week. As 2 year old's go, he's a handful and keeps me jumping. Another one of my blessings! My little pride and joy. If I have left anything out of this report please let me know, and accept my apologies. Hope you all are safe and content through the Season, and my best wishes to one and all. Hugs, Karen
