    1. [COGRAND] Lelah Ault - Middle Park Pioneer 1953
    2. Lelah Ault - Middle Park Pioneer 1953 Taken from Middle Park Times - September 17, 1953 Mrs. Lelah Ault was born April 24, 1881 at Hanibal, N.Y. and came to Corlorado in April 1883 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, who had taken a homestead on the Blue River17 miles south of Kremmling. Here she grew to young womanhood. Not being a strong child, her father and mother encouraged her to spend much of her time in the great out of doors. Lelah loved to help with the chores around the ranch and learned to ride horse-back very young, going for the milk cows at night and bring in the work horses mornings and going for the mail once a week at the Colorow postoffice, about 7 miles from the ranch. Lelah married Perry Ault, a young Blue River rancher near Dillon and they have lived a busy, quiet, and happy life. Their family consists of six girls and two boys. We all know with a family of 10 members there were hard time and good times and plenty to do but Lelah says she never fretted or worried. She did what she could each day for her family and felt there would be another day. What a blessing to have a disposition like this. Now she and her husband are up in years - she is 72 and Perry is 86 - still busy in their quiet way. He raises a wonderful garden each sunner and finds many other chores to do. While Lelah is happy with her household duties and her flowers, each spring she raises a number of baby chicks for home use. She has 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
