    2. Byers Woman fatally injured in riding accident Brenda Michelle Earl MacLennan was born Mar 21,1967 in Lamar, the 2nd child of Gary and Nancy Earl. She passed away at Swedish Medical Center, Denver, on Nov. 10, 1993, 17 days after a horse fell with her at a ranch north of Byers. Brenda was an active member of the United Methodist Church in McClave. Her activities included 4-H livestock and clothing projects, cheerleading, baton twirling, sports, boating, water skiing and many others. Brenda completed her elementary and secondary education in McClave, Colo., graduating as valedictorian in 1985. She attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, and complete a Bachelor of Science at the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. She was working to earn a degree in Nursing at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley at the time of her death. Brenda was married Aug.21, 1993 to Scott MacLennan of Valhalla Ranch north of Byers. Brenda is survived by her husband Scott and family of Byers, her father and mother, Gary and Nancy Earl who recently moved to Wray from McClave, her sister Mindy is a junior at Colorado State University and her brother Monty is in his last year of Washburn Law School at Topeka, Kans. Brenda's surviving grandparents are Carl Earl of McClave and Gertrude Pickering of Kremmling, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also mourn her passing.
