Matthew, I think it sounds like a terrific undertaking :) I am finishing up my masters' degree here in May. I can probably help with some transcriptions after that. Well that, but it would give the CC's a good starting point on their cemetery pages and histories of such. A couple of the other CC's that requested copies thought it was really helpful. Plus, it helped me, I had 16 unmarked graves and cemeteries, totaling up to about 230 people, and of course these are people I recorded. So it helps and also gives them a basis on ways to contact cemeteries and record custodians. I have worked with all three, but none have any of the information that is in the text I am referring to. And none touch on unmarked cemeteries. I will say they are great for gravestone photos, but none really focus on the cemeteries themselves. Hi Gail, This is just for use for COGenWeb and myself. I am trying to create a database for Colorado Cemeteries (In a sense, copying what the state of Iowa did for their cemeteries). Hi All, Some of you have already received digital copies of this information that lists the cemeteries in all 64 counties. They have a lot of information for each cemetery. But I need some help, I will be happy to transcribe the lists, but if anybody would like to help me transcribe I would greatly appreciate it. I have a template to be used and I need to use this for a complete directory of Colorado Cemeteries, I will send scans if you would like to help. Long list, I know, but unfortunately, it is going rather slow as some of the counties are rather long. Thanks, Matthew Prythero JEFFERSON COUNTY, COGENWEB CC Here are the counties yet to be transcribed: Archuleta Baca Bent Chaffee Cheyenne Clear Creek Conejos Costilla Crowley Custer Delta Dolores Douglas Fremont Gilpin Grand Gunnison Hinsdale Jackson Lake La Plata Las Animas Lincoln Logan Mesa Mineral Montezuma Montrose Otero Park Phillips Pitkin Prowers Pueblo Rio Blanco Routt Saguache San Juan Summit Teller
Not to be negative about this but this is not a requirement of COGenWeb CC's and this is not a COGenWeb Special Project.
