Hi, I'm signing off as Coordinator for Cogen, and yes he's giving a CD to us, the libraries, DAR library in Washington (foot in the door for a scholarship). My boys weren't in Boy Scouts long enough to get that far. He's with the Latter Day Saints and they have a good boy scout program. I will load them onto our tombstone project. I hope he can use it, It's one less cemetery for me to work on. I've got a lot of photo's now, but I'm putting the names and dates on each photo. Now that I've got Vista, I've got to get new software to do that. I thought I would be able to do a lot on the computer after surgery, but the biggest problem was the rod in my back wouldn't allow me to sit upright for too long without teeth grinding pain. Even now I can only sit for short periods of time. I've also got about a 2" stack of old obits to transcribe. I will be taking my laptop to Mexico, so should be able to get emails from there. If so, I suggested he contact you wearing your society hat so you could tell him if he was breaking new ground or if his proposed Eagle project duplicated existing work you and the society had already done. If it is new I still expect his work to wind up in the Douglas County section of the Colorado USGenWeb Archives. If it is not breaking new ground, I don't think it will qualify as a Eagle Scout level project. He's going to take one cemetery and take pictures (digital), then do some genealogy on each one. He's hoping to put a book together with a cd of the headstones. He wants to put them on our cemetery site. Does anyone have any suggestions on whether I should put them up or let him do it? Good morning! Denise checking in for Arapahoe, Denver and Jefferson counties. I have asked my co-coordinator, Terry Imbach, several times if she would like to take over Jefferson County. So far she has not confirmed that she would like to take Jefferson over. I am writing her this morning and advising that I am putting the County up for adoption and that she should contact either Sundee or Gail to adopt the county if she would like to adopt Jefferson. I am keeping Denver and Arapahoe, however. Thanks so much Denise Wells ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Checking in for my counties, I've started working over Alamosa to bring it up to HTML 4.01 standards and CSS, then I'll do Rio Grande. While looking at it I decided to remove the surnames page and move the pre message board queries to another page since they almost never get looked at any more. I will upload it when I get everything worked out. I haven't made any major changes to Alamosa in a long time. BTW, if you have a link to Alamosa or Rio Grande to index.htm please change it to http://www.rootsweb.com/~coalamos/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~coriogra/ A few months ago I had some reason I needed to change all my index.htm pages to index.html (I've forgotten exactly why) I put up a redirect page so the old links wouldn't 404 error but they need to be updated. Which brings up another question, how do we get Roots Web to put a prominent link on the message boards back to the county website? With out it we are pretty much useless.. A person could go from rootsweb to a message board and never see the county pages at all.
