Does anyone know how to fix an image with CSS so it does not scroll with the page and is not a back ground image? The right side of Rio Grand consists of two images, a solid blue background which is repeated and a foreground image that is blue with Rio Grande in white lettering that sits on top of it. I would like the latter image to stay in the upper left corner when the page is scrolled. I know how to get background images to do that but can't seem to find the command to do the same with foreground images. Pauli That file is in the Colorado USGenWeb Archives. It is part of the complete 1911 Colorado Business Directory that Joy Fisher transcribed. As noted by Annie, the basic information is public domain. The article may be republished by non-profits if they provide Joy credit for making the directory transcription available. The Archives would also appreciate a link in the article back to the transcription. I'm not positive but I believe anything that old would be Public Domain. It would be nice if she cited where she found it but not necessary. The only thing copyrighted would be the original contributors format. Ann Allen Geoghegan AnnieG

I am still here. At the moment I am out-of-town and cannot access my home computer. I have been struggling to keep up - and have been on the road quite a bit for the past 3-4 months. What happened to Karla? I've been trying to get that page changed for months and Sundee says she doesn't have access to it. I've taken over two more counties (Costilla and Mineral) and moved my own sites which the URL's need to be changed, finished the Woodward project a few years ago and I'd rather not have my full name listed on a webpage any more. BTW I uploaded the CSS improved Alamosa pages earlier and added a look up volunteer to the lookups page. Alamosa is the only county I have that has any active volunteers which is now 2 for Alamosa. I have one for Rio Grand but she has informed me she is in ill health and can not keep it up any more. Someone was talking about index pages the other day, it is better to code a link thus: http://www.rootsweb.com/~coalamos/ as opposed to http://www.rootsweb.com/~coalamos/index.html or http://www.rootsweb.com/~coalamos/index.htm Because the first will work whether the page is index.html or index.htm and if they are changed from one to another it still will work. But if you have it linked to index.htm then for some reason (like I had to do) it gets changed to index.html those links will no longer work and a 404 page not found error will occur. The main page MUST be the default of index.htm or index.html unless the server has been configured other wise. You can name your other pages what ever you want with in reason but the first page must be index.htm or .html Scott Scheibe dsscheibe@earthlink.net http://scottsworld.info/gene.htm Alamosa Co., Costilla Co., Mineral Co. & Rio Grande Co., Colorado Coordinator, USGenWeb Project. <http://www.rootsweb.com/~coalamos/> <http://www.rootsweb.com/~cocostil/> <http://www.rootsweb.com/~cominera/> <http://www.rootsweb.com/~coriogra/> Descendants of Capt. I don't know about other HTML Editors, but if Sundee used Arachnophilia to build those pages, she can open them all up at once and do a global search and replace and then FTP them back up to the site. You don't need to change each individual page. That's an example Karen, when we get a new CC or loose a CC or a CC takes on other counties we have to update mega pages instead of just one.
