Lee I imagine, I did get through to the "Find a Grave" and volunteered saying "since you are using my photo's I might as well get credit" We'll see what they do with that. Did Pauli say she submitted photo's to Tombstone and they ended up on Find a Grave? If so it doesn't even sound like they got to the right person. They end up on Find A Grave and it's all part of Ancestry.com anyway. The LDS are the best genealogists anyway, but they do need to give credit where credit is due. Scott Missing from the listing is Colorado Places, www.rootsweb.com/~coplaces/, Lee Zion webmaster. It has been a COGenWeb project since Don S. started it years ago. As I mentioned to Sundee earlier on this list, the Colorado Tombstone Photo Project www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/co/costones/ needs to be removed from the list altogether. It is a USGenWeb Archives project not a COGenWeb one. The same could be said for the Tombstone Transcription Project listing. Lee and Sandi Smith work for that USGenWeb special project and volunteered thru the TTP not the COGenWeb. It may be worthwhile to move the TTP listing to a Colorado associated USGenWeb projects list and not show empty positions that the COGenWeb can't directly adopt . A new associated projects list could also provide a link to the Colorado USGenWeb Archives and to the Census special project. Lee Zion. Happy New Year all. Coldest day in Forest Grove, Oregon so far this year was 27 degrees F, but we often once or twice a year drop to 17/18 degree range. Seems strange to hear of zero temps in Phoenix, Arizona. But I am from Anchorage, Alaska.......average winter temps of 17 degrees with several drops as low as -30 degrees in the winter. But cold was -45--50 degrees below zero when I worked in the Arctic North Alaska. When it got that cold our radios crackled and we were told to come in. donkelly ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gail Kilgore" <gail.kilgore@gmail.com> To: <cogen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 01, 2008 10:46 PM Subject: Re: [COGEN] Check in > Where are you at in Phoenix, Scott. I can't believe it is 57 at 4 am with a 4 mph breeze from the ESE. I'm on vacation and was just about to go to bed when I checked the mail. The temperature has actually gone up to 58 while I've been writing mail and checking out Sandra's problem. http://members.cox.net/dsscheibe/vws/ Is my weather station page, darn computer hung right after Christmas so it was down for 6 days. It works 99% of the time when I'm home but always seems to hang when I leave for a few days. Has to be one of Murphy's laws.. Of course the 26th was the coldest day 28 degrees I think and the weather link only held data for 5 days.. I was planing to come back the 2nd but came back the 31st because of that. The above URL also generates a 404. I looked at the other email you sent and tried this which does work but there is nothing there, just the directory. http://www.rootsweb.com/~colasani/ I played with the ftp information you gave me and I think if figured out her problem. I emailed it to you and her. I'm fairly sure it is her long file name.htm naming that is causing the problem. A note to everyone, the main page should be index.htm or index.html, there HAS to be a page there called index which is the default first page name unless the server has been programmed other wise and it should never be done. If the server can not find page named index.htm or .html which is what it expects it will generate a 404 file not found error. I went to the USGenWeb Archive to see what I could find, they have links to about everything you'd ever want to find in the GenWeb projects. It says Lee Zion is the manager, if so your doing an awesome job Lee. I've been meaning to go though the pages for my sites and check to see if I have all the links or just point to the archive page for the county. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/co/cofiles.htm I went to their section on Las Animas http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/co/lasanimas.htm and it says the county site is here: http://www.usroots.com/~colorado/index.htm There is a Las Animas site there that says "The Colorado State Coordinator is, Mary Ann Hetrick " and "Karen Mitchell is the Assistant County Co-ordinator" That's been a while back.. It doesn't say who the coordinator is but the copyright at the bottom says 2001 Leon Moya It's an image so I couldn't copy the text. I found an email on another page for him with an Australian address. I'll have to check the co wish list and county table and see which counties are listed as adoptable. BTW I'm on the wish list for Saguache.
