AUG 21" This unsigned note was found in the family archives of Charles E. and Ella PITZER, of Payne County, OK, whose son, Archibald K. PITZER, had gone to California looking for work in the early 1900s. Little is known of Arch's brief sojourn in California, but we understand that he was taken by pnemonia at the age of 28, and may have died on a train carrying him back to his home in OK in 1908, the year of his death. Until this note was discovered, it was thought that Arch died in CA. There is a Canyon City, in San Diego County, CA, but a living relative thinks Arch died on a train as it passed through Canon City, CO. Archibald K. PITZER's tombstone indicates he died the day after his 28th birthday on August 19, 1908. Did his death take place in Canon City, CO? That's the question I need help with, hopefully from one of you. Thanks. Gary Collins
