He made friends with the Indians and shod their horses. --His son, William James, was born in Canon City, CO (Questionable??). --James Henry Mc was the first sheriff of Canon City, CO. --He later returned to Garden City, Missouri where his daughter Rosa Bell was born. --James Henry grew a large orchard & grafted his own trees. --Buried in the Index Cemetery near Garden City, MO. --While a sheriff in Canyon City, Colo he had to kill a man & never got over it. --Goldie Fenton used to sit on her grandpa's (J.H.Mc) lap and stroke his long white beard. I have someone from RAOGK looking up any documentation on James Henry McCollum being the sheriff.
