I hadn't thought about using the library for goodies. Thanks! I checked in with my buddy at the local Planning & Zoning office regarding the Fremont Mine. We found it on an old map. Here is the info, although not sure it is of any use to you other than knowing it really existed. The map was by the US Geological Society and the Colorado Dept of Natural Resources. It is titled "Inactive Mine Reclamation Program", the "Canon City Quadrangle" and is Drawing #8007-13. With geology by: R.E. Marburg and A.R. Myers. Drafting by: H.A.H. Schlender. Dated: Jan 31, 1981. The Fremont Mine was a coal mine, and just next to it is the New Fremont Mine. Both are located just west of the little town of Williamsburg. I am able to request a copy of the mine site (sort of a topographical version) if interested. As I said, not sure what all this will do for you other than confirm it's location. Let me know if you need a copy, and since I do not have a scanner, I would need to mail it to you. You can send your address directly to my email if interested. Jo
