STANLEY (1838-1908) of Ohio, who moved to Canon City shortly before 1868. (His daughter Kate Stanley was born in Canon City in 1868.) His wife was Mary King of Ohio. They appear in the 1870 census of Canon City, and the 1880 census of "Arkansas River" in Fremont Co. He was a lawyer. By 1888 he had moved to Boston. At some point he divorced his wife. HARRY CASTELLO (1844-1937) of Rhode Island who went to Cañon City about 1878 with his wife Carrie. He is listed in "Arkansas River" in Fremont Co. in the 1880 census. They only remained a couple of years. Castello and Stanley reportedly were involved in the building of the Canon City water system (Previously, Mrs. Castello reportedly had caught Typhoid Fever from the old system.) WILLIAM WARNER DOUGLAS(S) (c1846 - 1920) who worked in Canon City from about 1878-1880 (and may have had an absentee business there for a couple of years afterwards.) All three later settled on the island of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, where Stanley and Castello built the Vineyard Haven water system. Any help on these three gentlemen appreciated! Also any info on the Canon City water system, and also the location of "Arkansas River" as a place name in the 1880 census. Thanks! Chris Baer cbaer@vineyard.net Chris
