June 24, 1961 Vol. LV, No. 150 Mrs. Laura Gale Dies Saturday At Hospital Mrs. Laura Gale, 86, of the IOOF Home died Saturday morning in a local hospital where she had been admitted three days prior. Mrs. Gale had resided at the IOOF Home since Feb. 11, 1960, moving here from Denver. She was born April 21 1875 at Canola, Kan. Her husband, J. C. Gale preceded her in death. Mrs. Gale held memberships in the Rebekah Daylight Lodge No. 121 at Denver and the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 39, Hall of Garnet, also in Denver. Surviving are two brothers, Frank J. Hart of Cedaredge and R. W. Hart of Denver. A niece, Mrs. Frances R. Murray, of Denver also survives. It would have been in the Canon City Daily Record, though. The obit reads as follows: Dorothy Moritz, 84, of Canon City, died April 14, 2000 in Canon City. She was born Jan 25, 1916, in San Diego, Calif., to Antonio and Frances ((Joratz) Fabrizio. Mrs. Moritz was the last surviving child in a family of eight children. She worked as a cosmetologist, and loved to crochet. Mrs. Moritz was a homemaker. She is survived by children: Larry Schrader and Bryon Schrader of Canon City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date. Local cremation is under the direction of Holt Family Funeral Home.
