    1. [COFremont] Howe surname and a mystery, can anyone help?
    2. Beatrice Anna Devereux was living in Kansas City, Missouri in 1914. In 1915 she gives birth to a set of twins. Thomas and Margaret Howe. They are born 03/29/1915. Canon City, Fremont Co., Colorado. Thomas died of scarlet fever before age 1. Margaret died 01/13/2004. Beatrice Devereux married John A. Howe. On Margaret's birth certificate it lists John A. Howe age 22, born Oklahoma and works as laboror. In 1920 census Beatrice Howe is found in Frederick, Tillman Co., Oklahoma. Listed as widow. It is unknown why shewas found in Oklahoma in 1920 census. her entire family was in Kansas City, Missouri/Kansas and in Colorado. My grandmother has asked me for years if i had found anything on her father. I have always replied no. She passed away yesterday and i made a promise to find her father and who he was. For nearly 89 years this question to her is unanswered. any help is greatly appreciated, sincerly david

It would have been after 1930. She passed away in AZ in 1983 and this is how I received this information. "Ihfe" was her married name. I am trying to locate her husband's first name and thought maybe he was with her in this business. If anyone knows about this restaurant, perhaps I can look it up in the court house records. Located in 1917, Canon City, Freemont Co., Colorado City directory for, Howe, Mrs. Beatrice , emp., Ideal Cafe, r. 911 S 4th Street, Canon City. Then in 1920 census she is listed in Frederick, Tillman Co., Oklahoma. ? why did she move to a place where she had no family? Bea was listed widowed, and Bea remarried shortly after census enumeration. However to a man who was located in 1920 census for state of Texas. After Bea Howe's marriage to Mr. Miller they move to Kansas City, Kansas. To be closer to her family. While Margaret was visiting an aunt in Kansas, she remembers being introduced to her ( Father ? ). Now after 75 years she can't remember that time period very well, and isn't sure about it anymore. I am hoping that someone might have information on a, John A. Howe who might have died possibly before 1916 in Fremont Co., Colorado. Bea had a father ( Thomas Devereux (( spell? ))) who died in Canon City, Fremont Co., Colorado on, 01/02/1917 Canon City. I am hoping someone might have information on Divorces/deaths or anything that might lead to knowing what happened to John A. Howe, or thier son Thomas Howe who died late in 1915 or early 1916 in Canon City. I am wiling to pay for service to provide an answer to a question that needs solved. Time is running out and definate old age is taking it's tole. Memories of places and faces are begining to blur. Soon the question won't need answered for the woman asking it won't remember anyone. any help is appreciated, sincerly David

    3. Hello everyone - I am new to the list. Trying to locate some information about my wife's GGF Name: William Henry WILLIAMS We were told that he died in Canon City on March 5, 1948 That he was born in Virginia in 1857 Had at least one child while living in Texas in 1891 I can find no record of him in 1920 or 1930 census. Is anyone willing to do a lookup wherever death certs are filed in Fremont county? I would really like a copy of the certificate and am willing to pay any related costs. However, I have no way to verify if he was even in Colorado, much less died there. Thanks Marty (in Maryland)

Newton died in Alamosa at the home of his son on Nov. 22, 1905..Buried in Alamosa Cemetery on Nov. 23, 1905 in Sec. 1, Block 7, Lot 15...age 86 years, 8 mo.....cause of death; old age.....The deceased was an early pioneer in the San Luis Valley and was associated in the early days with such people as Kit Carson, Tom Tobin and Nick Riddle, and at one time was considered wealthy"...... His wife, Maria de los Reyes died in 1883 and is buried in the MacMullan Cemetery.....Tom Tobin is also buried there....per this site I found on San Luis Valley....and this cemetery is in Costilla Co. in and around Ft. Garland, Co....it said she was 50 yrs. old......anxious to hear from you..

    2. John A. Howe and his wife Beatrice ( Bea ) Anna Devereaux. In 1915 they had a set of twins born 03/29/1915. Margaret Beatrice Howe and Thomas? Howe. 6 months about after birth Thomas died of scarlett fever. Margaret grew to machurity and reared her own family. In 1916 city directory for Canon City, Fremont Co., Colorado. Beatrice is listed as what loks like head of household. It is said and thought her husband died. Beatrice's family is all located in Fremont County and in neighboring area. Also in Kansas/Missouri Kansas City. In 1920 however Beatrice is located in 1920 census for, Tillman, Frederick Co., Oklahoma. She lists herself as widow with 5 year old daughter. I am looking for any information on a John A. Howe and his son who died in 1915 in Canon City. Beatrice died in Wyoming and her obituary contained nothing about her husband. Beatrice remarried in 1920 in Oklahoma to Thomas Miller and raised children from that marriage. This has been a dead end search for me. If anyone can help, i would be eternaly grateful. sincerly a decendent of John A. Howe and Beatrice Anna Devereux. The Devereux's are my brick wall. If anyone is connected. I do have some old pictures. Am very happy to share what i have. Sincerly David
