Audrey, I wanted to get back with you to point out a transcription error in the info below that you sent. There has been much confusion about the last name of Minerva Jane ALDRIDGE's first husband, Frank CASSETTE. I have heard it as CORZETTE, GAZETTE, KASSETT, and CASSETTE. My mother was never certain. However, I am working with my cousin, Jerri CUTHBERTSON, on this family line. Her mother was Estelle WISE; her grandmother was Clara Irene CASSETTE; and her great grandparents were Minerva Jane ALDRIDGE and Frank CASSETTE. She confirms that, as long as she can remember, CASSETTE was the last name used. So, I'm telling you that instead of the GAZETTE that you have in your records, it should be CASSETTE. Additionally, the three granddaughters of Waitsil ALDRIDGE that you have listed in the email below SHOULD be Jerri's grandmother, Clara Irene CASSETTE (probably born in Florence, Freemont Co., CO and married Cleveland G. WISE), and Clara's siblings, Flora CASSETTE b 06 Aug 1890 Mitchell Co., NC (married James Ralston RHYNE), and Maude CASSETTE b 30 Nov 1892 NC (married Ira VANCE). There are considerable discrepancies about WHEN Clara was born 1893-1900 but it is certain that she was the youngest of the three girls born to this couple. I continue to look for information on this family line (as well as descendants) but have had little luck. If you run across additional leads, I would welcome them. Will send copies of this to cousin Jerri as well as several of the lists that I am researching them on. Happy hunting! Tamara G. Hi, I am trying to find information on my EVANS family. I have tried a direct route in trying to find information on my great grandfather John EVANS. So I am now trying to find the information going through his brother's family. His brother's name is Thomas. I have been told and did see it in his grandaughter's obitury that Richard EVANS was a State Senator and I believe it was from Freemont County in the early 1920's. His wife's name is Susie JESOP EVANS. Is there any way I can find any information on this? A web site, anything. I am from Texas so it is hard for me to do research there. I would appreciate any information. John EVANS has been a big brick wall for me. I already have a lot of information and photos of these people that I would love to share with anyone researching these people, but I am hoping to find relatives that might still live in the Canon City area or find out if there are any sort of historical archives that might have something on my ancestors there/ My biggest goal at the moment is to find the following: 1.Obituary for William James. He was born 2 Sep 1845 in England, died 9 Jan 1924 in Canon City, Colorado, USA.02 1845 2.Obituary for Ellen Downs (Barrett) James. She was born 13 Apr 1851 in Pilaton, Cornwall, England, and died 6 Jul 1927 in Canon City Cornwall. These two had the following children who lived in Canon City at one time, but I haven't been able to track down any except for Arhtur Henry, my great great grandfather, and his brother Mark. Any further information on these people would be helpful. Name born location Bessie James 1877 Callington, Cornwall, Enlgand Mark James 1878 Callington, Cornwall, England Eli James 1880 Callington, Cornwall, England Joseph James 1883 Nova Scotia, Canada Eliza James 1887 Nova Scotia, Canada Ada James 1889 Nova Scotia, Canada Arthur Henry James 23 June 1890 Nova Scotia, Canada Rose/a James 1894 Nova Scotia, Canada Also, I have ties to the Demicell/Demicelli family in Canon City. There are many researchers of this large family and, if not to find more information or photos of this family, I would be more than happy to share the large amount of information that's been shared with me and introduce anyone interested to other Demicell researchers. Of course, anything on any of these people is welcome. I am open to questions and if you'd like, please check out my web site www.thebluebox.tribalpages.com for more names and dates. Thanks in advance. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
