Dear sir, madam, Please help me with the following. I am from Holland and am interested in the US soldiers who fought for our freedom during WW2 and who are buried in the US military cemetery near where I live. I am seeking for a picture from pfc William J. Savoren, from Crested Butte, KIA 2 January 1945 in Belgium. Perhaps there was something mentioned about him in a local newspaper or there is a picture in a yearbook. Thanks in advance and kind regards from Holland, AnNo
I show that he was buried in Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado. I am guessing he was buried in Belgium and then returned home for burial. I can't seem to find an obituary for him in either CA or CO. As he still has a marker in the military cemetery in Belgium, I think the Pueblo marker is just a memorial. If his father went to Belgium, it could be to bring his son home. The rest of the family is buried in Roselawn.
