Greetings listers: Searching for others with a tie to this prolific Davis family -- Dr. Isaac Davis born February 19, 1836 Bath, England died August 12, 1891 Manitou Springs, Colo. son of Isaac Davis and Hannah Boulter Davis married Sarah Pease born July 29, 1938 Twerton, England died March 12, 1908 Manitou Springs, Colo. Isaac and Sarah married in London December 22, 1856 Isaac served in the Crimean War and then after moving his family to Brooklyn, New York he served in the Union Army during the U.S. Civil War. After the war he took a course in medicine at the Eclectic College of Medicine in Pennsylvania. >From Brooklyn, he moved the family to the Colorado Territory in 1872. In Manitou Springs, he served as Postmaster, Justice of the Peace, Mayor, Trustee on the town council, and for six years served as the El Paso County Coroner. He owned and ran the Davis Drugstore for many years and was the local mortician as well as owning the town cemetery. Fifteen (yes, 15!) children were born to Isaac and Sarah Davis: 1. Ann Maria Davis born Nov. 23, 1857 in Bath England died/buried at Sea Feb. 13, 1858 2. Clara Matilda Davis born Feb. 11, 1858 at Sea died/buried at Sea Feb. 11, 1858 3. Clara Matilda Davis born Jan. 16, 1860 in NY died/buried May 23, 1860 Brooklyn, NY 4. Walter Davis born August 11, 1863 in NY died/buried Oct. 14, 1864 Brooklyn, NY 5. William Augustus Davis born Dec. 11, 1864 in Macon, MO died Jan. 12, 1932 Colo. Springs, CO wives: Lula Agnes Goodell, Marie Verle Anderson, & Anzonetta Bessie Stuchal William was a Colonel in the Colorado National Guard and prominent in business and fraternal organizations 6.
