    3. Bill, The obituary appeared in The Colorado Springs Gazette on 17 May 1995: FRED D. HUNTER, 90, a Colorado Springs resident, died May 15, 1995, at a local hospital. He worked for 40 years as an industrial relations consultant for ABEX Corp., formerly the American Brake Shoe and Foundry Co., before retiring. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home's Cascade Chapel, with the Rev. O. Gerald Trigg and the Rev. Gaylord Hatler officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Mr. Hunter was born June 12, 1904, in Kansas City, Mo., to Frederic T. and Nancy (Dooley) Hunter. He was married in 1976 in Colorado Springs to Ruby L. Hunter, who survives. His first wife, Alta Bierschbach, died in 1975. Mr. Hunter attended the University of Denver and graduated from the New York City College. He was a member of the Rotary Club, First Christian Church, Ramapo Masonic Lodge 589 in Suffern, N.Y., Pikes Peak High 12 Club and the Fountain Colony Investment Council. In the 1920s, he played the drums in Denver with Cliff Gillett and his 23-piece band and also with Art Benson and his "Blue Jackets," a 21-piece band. Good luck with your research.
