I am trying to locate my second cousins Lenore [Leonore, Lennore?] Elena Buss and Ronald Michael Buss. Lenore was born 11 July, 1948 and Ronald was born 17 March, 1952 to Richard and Helen Irene [Smuck] Buss. Both were born in Colorado Springs and went to grade school and high school there, They may also have attended school in Peyton. Note: The various R. M. Buss individuals listed in Yahoo "people search" or on Google are NOT the person sought [unfortunately it has not been that easy]. I post this from time to time hoping that someone will recognize these individuals. My last posting was in 2005. It is possible that Ronald M. Buss served in the U.S. Navy, but I have not been able to trace him this way either. Both parents are deceased, and no information is forthcoming from close relations of the parents. I have been hoping that high school acquaintances may remember one or the other of these individuals, but have posted to their high school with no result. There is no marriage record for Lenore in El Paso Co. Any information would be gladly received. John L. Ragle 413 549-2639 [email protected]

Hello Cliff, Are all of the obits that were in the papers entered into the library data? I did a search for my grandfather and his is not in the data at the Pikes Peak Regional library. Yet, I did find his obituary in the microfilmed newspapers at the Penrose Library a few years ago. It seems to me there are some missing in the 1920 and 1930's. I have found about 5 that I needed in the PPRL but, they are all later than that. Hello, After Cliff so kindly found an obituary for Roberta Wright for me, information from that has led to the fact that her sister Sara Mildred Barnett was living in Colorado Springs as well. On her death Index it just has Mildred Barnett on it but the date of birth matches. She died in December 1975 and was apparantly buried in Florida. Like Roberta she was born in Wales in 1894. I would be grateful (again!) if someone could find an obituary for Sara. Hi Cliff, Thank you very much for finding and sending the obituary. I have tried to e-mail you with your personal e-mail address but it keeps coming back undelivered. So I am hoping that you get my message through this mailing list. My family search in America has now reached Colorado Springs, with the White family. I would really hope that I can contact this family and tell them the interesting connections they have with families here in Wales and 2 connections with Daniel Boone's family in America. All the best to you and thanks again. Well, try the steps I gave you. Does it work without entering a library card number? I am a resident of Colorado Springs, and have a PPLD library card. If I want to access HeritageQuest, WorldCat, or my own account at the library's site, I have to enter my library card number (I've never seen it ask for a ZIP code). But if I go to Pikes Peak NewsFinder, I can go straight in without providing my library card number. If you experience something different, I'd be interested to hear about it and figure out why. I know the head of PPLD Special Collections, and I've never heard it mentioned that this resource is available only to library card holders. The opposite, in fact. I believe you have to be a resident of El Paso County, Colorado. Actually, it's not necessary to hold a PPLD card to access NewsFinder and request obituaries. (And some of the obituaries have full text available online.) This site is open to the public! To get there: Go to www.ppld.org Click on "Special Collections" Then click on "Pikes Peak NewsFinder." That's all there's to it. No library card or "membership" involved.
