Hello, I'm hoping someone on this list can help me. I'm trying to find descendents of Levin Smith and Amanda Wharton Smith. Both of these people were born in Delaware. They had a daughter, Jennie B., born in Maryland. The family then moved to Missouri where they had another daughter, Lillian A. Jennie B. married a James D. Boyce in Missouri and they had three children: Grace, Harry W. and Cecie. Both Jennie and James died as the children were living with Levin and Amanda in Colorado Springs, CO census in 1900. Lillian A. married Samuel D. Slyder and they had four children in Colorado: Edith, Edna, Earl, and Erma. I believe that Lillian and Samuel divorced as the children were living with their father in 1910 in Colorado. Any help appreciated. Joni

Thomas was born in IL son of John and unk Hyland, then in 1771-1800 or there- abouts in Woodson Co KS. He married Harriett "Hattie" Essarey. I found them in Co Springs El Paso Co buried in Evergreen Cemetery. Thanks
Hi Coleen, Call Evergreen cemetery at 719-578-6646 and they can tell you rather or not they are buried there and I think they can also tell you about Fairview cemetery. If not call Fairview at 719-578-6638. I would call for you but I am in Texas right now. They have it listed on the computer and will look it up for you while you are on the phone. Good Luck. Harriette and Thomas are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Lot B. When the cemetery was indexed, they didn't have markers: B HYLAND, HARRIETTE B. Born: 1872 Died: 1957 Comments: (wife of Thomas P. HYLAND) B HYLAND, THOMAS P. Born: 1869 Died: 1957 Comments: (husband of Harriette B. HYLAND) In 1900, this couple is apparently in Fairfield, Tippecanoe Co., IN. At least the ages match: Thomas H. Hyland, b. May 1869, IL, parents b. Ireland Hattie Hyland, b. July 1872, IN, parents b. Indiana They'd been married five years and she had had no children. He was a [railroad?] car inspector. I hope this helps. Hi, More information is needed on Thomas, Harriet and the adopted daughter to do a through search. Where in El Paso County, Colorado were they in 1900? Do you know where they were in 1910? I wish to thank the El Paso list participants for the help I received vis-a-vis a search for 2 cousins who lived long ago in Colo. Spgs. In large part due to your help, I have broken down a "brick wall" that has been blocking me for almost 15 years. John Ragle [email protected]
