I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ralph W. ROBINSON which was taken at the Freeman's Studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Ralph noted as 7 years and 5 months old at the time it was taken. I'm hoping that someone from Ralph's family can be located so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with his family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Hi All, A couple of months ago their were two people wanting obits from Elpaso County and I suggested they write the Library. I have lost their name and address and I would like for them to get in touch with me. Thanks. Roberta Summers
I'd be grateful for precise death dates of Dean and Minnie (French) Church. They died 1930 onwards in Colorado Springs. Dean was born 1879, Minnie 1881, both in Iowa. Many thanks for your help, and best wishes to you. Scott Swanson Department of History Butler University 4600 Sunset Avenue Indianapolis, Indiana 46208-3485 [email protected]
Hi All, I thought it would be a good idea to list a couple of good places for out of stators to do research in case they don't know about it. The Penrose Public library has a lot of genealogy in the local history department and great researchers working there. They have old newspapers on mico-film plus there indexed so that helps a researcher and saves a lot of time. I do not know what they charge so you would have to ask them when you send your queries along with a SASE. The address is: Penrose Public Library, Attn. Local History, 20 No Cascade, CO. Spgs., CO 80903 Also the Gazette is on line with an Archives that list obits back to April 1988 but you do have to subscribe before seeing the obit. Just click on to Archives on the left hand side of the page and they will tell you how to do the rest. It does cost for this service and they do list different ways and cost for this. If you only have a few you could probably get by with subscribing for one day and it's cheap. It can be found at Gazette.com That is the two places I do a lot of researching at. I live near CO.Spgs., so I do a lot at the Penrose library. Good luck to all CO. researches and I hope this info helps someone. Roberta Summers
Dear Roberta, Barbara and Cliff How can I thank you all enough for your fantastic help in chasing down William Vaughan Williams for me. I now have his obituary, and his family address in Colorado Springs. Thank you again, Angharad from Anglesey in North Wales,UK
Hello from North Wales I am trying to trace descendants of my cousin William Williams who was born in Spokane,WA in 1915. He died in Colorado Springs,El Paso,Colorado on December 9th 2003 aged 87 or 88. William WILLIAMS Birth Date: 30 Jun 1915 Death Date: 9 Dec 2003 Social Security Number: 539-07-0567 State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Washington Death Residence Localities ZIP Code: 80919 Localities: Co Spgs, El Paso, Colorado Colorado Springs, El Paso, Colorado I have been unable to find any further details about him, and wondered whether you may have any advice as to where to search next! In particular I want to find out whether he was married and had any children. Where he lived in Colorado Springs, etc. His parent's names were Morris and Jane Williams who were both born here in North Wales but emigrated to America early on in their marriage. Many thanks for any help Mrs Angharad Holmes _www.angharadholmes.co.uk_ (http://www.angharadholmes.co.uk) [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected])
Can anyone help me get copies of two obituaries? Colorado Springs Elizabeth Stringer died 5 Jul 1922, buried in Evergreen Cemetery (wife of George) George Stringer died 10 December 1935, buried in Evergreen Cemetery I would appreciate any advice as to how to send for these obits. Gratefully, Georgia Whitson
Let me preface this first. I don't think I am out of line on this one. This is definitely genealogy related! Does anyone have a list of nick names given to given names? I believe that it might help us all in our research. Jane Foley

Am seeking any information about the family of VERNUM (VERN) MERRILL, who appears in the 1920 census of El Paso county. His father, (Rev.) Joseph Merrill is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs. Any information will be most appreciated. Thank you. Peggy
Is there someone on this list ( hopefully in northern El Paso County) who reads and writes Norwegian? I have received a pedegree chart for five generations of my son-in-law's family. Some of it I can figure out (like Farfar, Farmor, Morfar and Mormor), but the chart isn't done quite properly and a lot of it I can't even read. It is also patrynimic, which I do understand. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Barbara Jameson aka [email protected] List manager: PRIOR, PRYOR, JAMESON and MOLSBERRY
