Sue, Thank you for contacting me. I think I may be able to add to your research. Joshua Coe, who married October 26, 1784, in Caswell County, NC, Rachel Paul, daughter of Samuel and Judith (Burton) Paul, moved to Wilkes County, GA, after marriage. He appears on record there February 7, 1791, when he sold to Carter Newsom a bed, plate, dutch oven, spinning wheel, etc. In 1793 he was reported as a member of the Columbia County, GA, militia. The "Augusta Chronicle" of November 30, 1793, reported him on a list of Wilkes County tax delinquints. The family later moved to Wayne County, KY, where Rachel is reported as "Rachel Kiggins Deceased" in a deed dated October 11, 1818. Her children Elizabeth Coe, Samuel Coe and Nancy Kiggins are reported in the same document as "being heirs of Rachel Kiggins Deceased all of Wayne County and State of Kentucky." Joshua apparently died about 1800. Children: 1. Elizabeth, m. July 14, 1822, in Wayne Co., KY, John Morrow. 2. Samuel, b. 1793 in GA; m. May 11, 1826, in Wayne Co., KY, Elvira Davis. Samuel and Elvira (Davis) Coe had eleven children and have a host of descendants in south central Kentucky. I hope this is helpful. Carl Robert Coe
