Oliver Coe was son of Jonathan Coe and Elizabeth Elmer. Jonathan died 1795. Jonathan was son of Joseph Coe and Abigail Robinson. My note gives as source "DAC 7/113" I think that is a DAR record, and those records are not reliable. Then, "Record of the Coe Family from 1596 to 1856" by David Benton Coe gives Joseph's ancestry: "Joseph (4) b. Feb. 2, 1684, m. Barbara Parmele; Middletown , Ct; d. Feb. 4, 1762; a 78." Joseph's father was "John (3), born May 10, 1658; spent his early life in New Haven; returned to Stratford in 1680; married Mary Hawley, Dec. 20, 1682, and died April 19, 1741, aged 78 years ..." Robert (2) Coe born in England in 1627. Married Hannah ---. died in 1659. Robert (1) Coe, born 1596. That source says Anna was the mother of his children, but it is wrong; she was his 2nd wife (married 1630). The mother was Mary, wife #1. I don't have the Bartlett book; that is probably more complete and accurate.
