Missouri Ardrey, as mentioned, was the daughter of James and Martha (Hudspeth) Coe of Hardin County, KY, and St. Landry Parish, LA. Although both of their families were from Surry County, NC, they were married April 5, 1802, in Warren County, KY. James, who was a son of Timothy Coe IV, served in 1802 as an Ensign with the Third Regiment, Kentucky Cornstalk Militia, and with Thompson's Company, 16th Regiment, Louisiana Militia, during the War of 1812. Their children were as follows: 1. Louisiana C., b. 1804 in TN. 2. ?Thomas. 3. Missouri Louisa, b. 1808 Hardin County, KY. 4. David Hudspeth, b. Sept. 2, 1812, Hardin County, KY; gggf of Boyer Coe, "Mr. Universe." 5. Ulysses, b. 1822 St. Landry Parish, LA. 6. Amazon, b. 1824 St. Landry Parish, LA. 7. James Timothy, b. April 1827 St. Landry Parish, LA. Served with Company K, 16th Louisiana Infantry, Confederate Army, during the Civil War. Captured at the Battle of Stones River, he died March 25, 1863, in Chicago, IL, while being held prisoner by the Union. I hope this is helpful. Carl Robert Coe
