I am writing to you because there was a JACOB GONZALES who witnessed the will of my ancestor, MOSES CARPENTER, in 1828 in Onondaga Co., NY. MOSES CARPENTER was born in about 1750 and is believed (not proven) to be the son of JOHN CARPENTER and RUTH COE, both presumed to be of Jamaica, Long Island, NY. MOSES CARPENTER moved from Orange Co., NY to Onondaga Co, NY in about 1794. I have thought that JACOB GONZALES was probably from the Ulster Co., NY line, and wondered if there could be any connections. Thank you, PHoebe Searching: ORANGE CO, NY: Moses Carpenter, b.1751, son of John and Ruth (Coe) CARPENTER m. 1st. Elizabeth Runyon from Morris Co., NJ, 2 nd. Hannah Smith from Or.
