    2. STEVE: these southern coe lines are tricky. i have the coe book by bartlett but he doesn't seem to have done any of the southern lines. i do subscribe to two ky. societies and i see coe references in them all the time. my suggestion would be to find a society in the area that you are researching and put a query in their newsletter or whatever it is they send. i have had very good response from the ky. newsletters on some of my southern names. good luck and happy hunting. gary in oregon

    1. [COE-L] coe family
    2. Randy Erickson
    3. Does anyone have any information on my Coe family? Thomas Coe married Lydia Dean. Thomas died 1833 and Lydia was born 15 feb, 1767 in Redding Fairfield Conneticutt and she died oct 19 1848 in Jamaica Long Island NewYork. They had a daughter named Lydia Coe born abt 1801 in Brooklyn Kings New York. Rumor and family tradition has it that Thomas's Great Grandfather married a Lady who came over on the May flower and that most of the family was from Oysterbay. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Would appreciate it if someone would Email me back. Randy Erickson

    1. [COE-L] Daniel Coe, Worchester, MD
    2. DRECK
    3. Dear Carl; Thanks for the information about Daniel Coe's parents. Daniel was my 7th great-grandfather through his son John and his daughter Sarah, who married Obed Aydelott. Could I ask you for details about the families of Timothy II and his father Timothy? All I know about the senior Timothy is that he came from England, and I have no information about his spouse and children (other than Timothy II), nor do I have any information about Timothy II's family other than that of his son Daniel. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks for your help. Dave Eckberg Highlands Ranch, Colorado

    2. DRECK
    3. Dear Carl; I've been away from my genealogy for a few months tending to other projects, but now I'm back and trying to track down some more Coe information. A few months ago you helped me with information about my ancestor John Coe, and told me his parents, John and Rebecca Coe. In trying to get more information about John's family I've gone to the Coe archives where I get fragments of information, but I still have major gaps. I know that Daniel's grandfather was Timothy and that Timothy came from England, but I have n information about Daniel's father. Can you help me with these gaps? Would it be possible to send a file with John or Daniel's ancestor tree, or maybe Timothy's descendent line? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again. Dave Eckberg Highlands Ranch, Colorado

I believe you mean Worcester (pronounced wusster), Ma. Please let me know what other information you have on this. I am researching Abigail COE (daughter of Robert COE) who married William FURMAN in 1739 in Newtown, LI, NY. and Phoebe COE, b. 1772 and married Aaron FURMAN about1792, also Newtown, LI, NY. Thank you. Stephen >> Dear Stephen, Unfortunately I have no further information on the wrench company or the Coes. I just thought is was interesting to buy the wrenches! I know that Robert Coe had sons who did not go to NY, so guess that the co. is from those descendants. I am aware of the Furman name above. The AB Carpenter book states that John Carpenter married Ruth Coe in 1735 and one of their sons was my ancestor Moses Carpenter. He further states that Ruth married a Mr. Thurston after John Carpenter died and she must have taken the family records with here. There were Coes in Orange Co became Rockland at that time, but I have not made any connection. The only connecting link I can see (now) is there was a Coe Gale and the Gales married into the Carpenter family. I have not found a connection with the Thurston family and have wondered if he meant Firman, or what??? I see quite a few Firmans, Furmans in NJ. There was also a Moses Higby in Or. Co. and they are related to the Coes. One of the Coes also was in Rye NY. I had the NY wills CD, but seem to have misplaced it. I also copied some of the Coe wills. My biggest problem , is a common problem, shortage of time! I was out of state for 4 months this year plus had a sick husband when here. No Christmas!! I am going to print and keep you e-mail with my Coe files and when I get back to "organizing" them, I can check deeper. Regards, Phoebe
