Rodney Raymond HOCKETT, the son of Ray Oliver and Ruby Hester (HOLSEYBROOK) HOCKETT, was born on March 27, 1937, in Montrose, Colo., where he spent his childhood years, received his education, grew to adulthood, and lived his entire lifetime. Rodney was employed as a fruit sorter for Skyland and worked for Holly Sugar in Delta. He had a great love for music and enjoyed singing, gardening, and beekeeping. Rodney will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. Family survivors who were blessed to share Rodney's life include one brother-in-law, Harold Kolz, of Montrose; one niece, Nancy and husband R.C. Quiett and their daughter Chelsey, of Canyon, Texas; one nephew, Warren Kolz and wife Erin and their son Scott, of Lawrence, Kan.; as well as numerous cousins in the Grand Junction area. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Reva Kolz. A funeral service in loving remembrance and to celebrate Rodney's life will be officiated by Rev. Scott Moore on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Montrose Valley Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in the Valley Lawns Cemetery, south of Montrose.
