Charles Edward Swanson Sr., 90, of Paonia died at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Monday July 16. He was born Oct. 4, 1910, to Anna Marie Rose (Salmonson) and Charles Oscar Swanson in Chicago, ILL.On Dec. 4, 1935, he married Marie Rose Schroeder in Chicago.He is survived by one son and two daughters.

Ophelia M. Morris, 94, of Littleton died July 8, 2001, in Denver. Mrs Morris was born on Jan 1, 1907, in Cedaredge, the daughter of Edwin and Lille (Dale) January. She married Clyde B. Morris on aug. 25,,1928, in Los Angeles. She is survived by five children.

Robert Lee Perkins died of natural causes July 19, 2001, at his home in Eckert. He was 75. He was born on Sept. 5, 1925, in Joplin, Mo.,to Macy and Iva (Rule) Perkins. He married Nona Stillwagon on March 22, 1947, in Aztec, N.M. He served as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy from January 1942 to April 1946. He was stationed at the U.S. submarine base at Pearl Harbor.. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Joe A. Davis, 88, of Eckert died tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Horizon Care Center in Eckert. He was born March 8, 1913, in Madrid, N.M., to Charles and Pearl (Aragon) Davis. He married Mary Chapman on May 12, 1935, in Gallup, N.M. He was a pipefitter. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

He was born on May 17, 1915, to George Albert and Florence Elizabth Ames in the township of Welch, Minn.,one of eight children. He married Ada Marie Wilde in Shelley, Idaho, in 1936. Mr. Ames served for a short time in the U.S. Army,ultimately dicharging due to health issues. He is survived by three children.

Carpio R. Gutierrez of Delta died of natural causes July 6, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 57. He was born on June 16, 1944, in Alamosa, to Horacio and Eva (Valdez) Gutierrez. He married Maria S. Ladino in Center on aug. 30, 1967, she survives. He is survived by six daughters.

Edna Opal Dalton, 84, of Delta died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta. She was born March 7, 1917, in Carter, Okla., to clarence and Demmie (Brown) Miller. She married Harry Orval Dalton on Sept. 25, 1933 in Rocky Ford. She is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Mollie Eleanor Elliott, a former resident of Delta died of natural causes July 5, 2001, at Kaiser-Permanente Hospital in Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Elliott was born on Jan 28, 1910 in Fowler, to William and Sophia (Poage) Deputy. She married Lowell Elliott on Oct 13, 1964, in Delta. She is survived by three sons and a daughter.

Donna L. Pobirk died of natural causes July 6, 2001, at her home in Paonia. She was 62. She was born on Jan 8, 1939, in Sterling, to Arthur and Florence (Bath) Dick. She married Don Pobirk on March 2, 1967, in Westminister; he survives. She is survived by two daughters.

Ella Lee Duncan Leeds, 93, of Delta died Friday, July 6, 2001, at Willow Tree of Delta. She was born Aug. 21, 1907, in Pittsburg, Kan., to James Burney and Mary Ida (Barnett) Bradshaw. She married Ervin E. Duncan on April 4, 1928, in Delta. She is survived by two sons and three daughters.

Ted M. Ester of Eckert died of natural causes July 5, 2001, at Horizons Care Center. A machinist, he was 64. He was born on Nov 9, 1937, in Three Sands, Okla., to Russel and Florence (Rouse) Ester.

Frances Helen Martinez, 81, of Delta died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Larchwood Inn in Grand Junction, Colo. She was born Aug. 18, 1919, in Alamosa, to fidel and Rosanelda (Gutierrez) ruybal. she married Joseph N. Martinez on July 3, 1937, in Alamosa. She is survived by her husband, six sons and four daughters.

Tom Stewart, 68, died on June 28, 2001, at his home in Sheboygan, Wis, of a heart attack.Thomas Allen Stewart was born on Jan.16,1933, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of Leroy and Zoa Hachet Stewart. He married Marion Conger Stewart Dec. 21,1958. He is survived by one son and two daughters.

Edwin T. Crowley,91, of Montrose died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at San Juan Living Center in Montrose,Colo. He was born Dec. 29, 1909, in Chromo, to Alonzo and Annie (Teeson) Crowley. He married Deane McCollough. He is survived by three sons and three daughters.

Lorene Campen died in Petaluma, Calif., on June 17,2001. She was born on Oct. 30,1909, in Alexandria, Mo., to William and Anna Leake. On March 18,1944, she married Fred Campen in Keokuk, Iowa, and moved to Colorado. In 1955 she went to work for the Veterans Hospital and the Air Force base in Aurora.In 1970, the Campens retired to Cedaredge. Mrs. Campen is survived by her husband and a daughter.

Faires Barnett of Sheridan, Wyo., died Thursday, June 21, 2001, of heart surgery complications. He was 81. Mr. Barnett was born March 25, 1920, at the Connable Ranch in Hotchkiss to Lucile (Arnold)and Faires "F.C." Barnett. He married Ann Bailey on Dec 23, 1948 . He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter.
