Can't help you a whole lot, but just by coincidence I picked up the San LUis Valley *GenealogicaL sOCIETY journal. Vol. 7, number ? of 1991 in a used book store and I was reading it yesterday and found the following.: Situated at the top of the hill overlooking Fort Garland is a fenced cemetery with six graves, five of them marked. It continues to list the Brennaman burials then states "On the morning of May 22, Ted's wife Eva and her sister Ruth Judd (who was holding a baby) were seated in the house and Ted came in with a gun and told them he was going to kill them. He shot Ruth first and when Eva ran out, he shot her. He than ran to his father's house where he threw the gun (which had jammed) down. He than ran to his uncle's house (Charles Robinson). Mrs. Robinson saw the blood on his face and said, "Ted, you've been hurt. Let me fix you up". He said, "No, they're after me" and ran out. As he ran toward his mother's house, a man by the name of Vasquez dropped to his knee, took a shot and killed him.
