Surnames: Cochran,Griffin, Herald Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IMJ.2ACEB/1758 Message Board Post: I am searching for information on the parents of Ella Cochran b Sept. 24, 1864 in Shamokin Dam, PA. She died July 14, 1939 in Milton, PA. She married Clarence Griffin and had 4 children one of whom was my Great-grandmother. Ella is buried in Harmony Cemetery in Milton, PA. The only other information that I have on Ella is that she was raised by someone she called Aunt Meg, who also lived in Shamokin Dam, PA and that she always wore dresses with high collars due to a goiter on her thyroid. Ella's daughter, Mary, my great-grandmother also inherited this disease and this has been a health problem for generations of Ella's female descendants. I have been diagnosed with a goiter and hypothyroidism (hoshimoto's disease)and my aunt also had a goiter removed several years ago when she was in her late 20's. I believe that Ella's father may have been Abraham Cochran, but have no information to confirm this. I would love to hear from other Cochran's with any information on this.
