James is listed on the stone as being born 1769 and his death date is 1850. Myers is 9/18/1812 - 3/20/1904, Phebe Rebecca as 1/26/1821 with no death date. I have her death date as 4/20/1904 (off the internet). I have other information about her if you are interested. They were married in Bartow County, GA 11/16/1838. I believe James was born in Chimney Rock, Rutherford, NC. Myers had a son named James and I believe he is my great-grandfather but I cannot prove it. My gf was James (Jim) Cochran, wife Elvira Davis. If you want any of my list e-mail me and I will send them. I have a list of the Cochrans I found on the census reports. If you find anything about James in NC I would like to know. I think I can give you a list of Myers children. It is so hard to figure this stuff out since every male carries the name James into another generation. I wonder if James was named after his father another James. I did go to the library and I found a lot about the Cochrans in Rutherford, NC. They must have been rather well off, since they seem to own a lot of property and they were involved in the happenings of the county. Let me know by e-mail if you want any of this. ________ >> Hello, I have a gr grandfather Green H. Cochran, born in Georgia, in 1818. Father and mother, thought to have come from NC. Then found in Greenville, Butler County, AL, purchasing land in 1858. Then in the 1880 U.S.census was found to be in Gonzales County, TX. He married a Nancy (Nannie) Rebecca Joyce, born in GA, daughter of James Jackson Joyce,. It was her 4th marriage, do not know if he had been married prior to this marriage. He was abt. 62, she was abt. 42 years of age. He died after 1889 in Gonzales, Co. TX. I don't have any more information on the Cochran Family, but always looking. Could there be a connection?
