I believe it is time to raise the question again. George W. Cochran b. abt. 1795 place unknown, m. unknown, m. before 1837 Mary G. Weed Gray, SC, b. 1802 SC. d.aft. 1880 in GA. George died 1869, GA. George and Mary married at Abbeyville, SC. Mary had been married to William Gray and had children by him. George became their legal gaurdian. George and Mary moved from Abbeyville, SC to Campbell Co. GA in 1850. Children of George and Mary: ** George Washington Cochran b. abt 1827/29 (it is not clear if George W. is the son of Mary or the first wife [unknown] of George W. Cochran). According to all applicable GA census George Washington Cochran was b. in GA, there is no record of George W. and Mary being in GA prior to 1850. George Washington Cochran d. in Campbell Co. GA. in 1894. He married Mariah Shelnutt in Campbell Co. GA. Felix F. Cochran b. 1837 SC, d. 1898 in Campbell Co. GA. He married Susan A. Cook in Campbell Co. GA. Francis M. Cochran b. 1844 SC, d. 1917 Ala. He married Caroline Jackson in Campbell Co. GA. Henry Newton Cochran b. 1848 SC., d. 1925 in Campbell Co. Ga. He married 1869, Matilda Chatfield Owens in Campbell Co. GA. He married 1901, Arabella Cordelia (Delia) Dailey Freeman. Anne E. Cochran b. 1838 SC Sarah Cochran George Washington, Felix F., Francis M.-all CSA Vets., Henry N. was notified that he would be called, but was later notified not to report as the war was coming to a close. (His Diary). This data is all confirmed by the Family Bible of Henry Newton Cochran, his personal diary, and Death Certificate, as well as by the reports given by Arabella Cordelia (Delia) Cochran, and descendants of Felix F. Cochran. Barring any typographical error by the writer it is true and accurate.
