Cockerham/Cockram, born 1769 and died in 1841 Buncombe Co., NC. He was married to Elizabeth "Betsy" Stewart/Stuart. I believe this was a 2nd marriage because she was so much younger than he and 1 daughter I know of was too old to be here daughter. I originally had a James listed as a son, but couldn't remember where I got the info and took it off. Your information is making me wonder now if we aren't connected. Tell me why or where you got the information that this William was his father? I really would like to know. It may give me another break to help track this family. William first showed up in Buncombe in 1810 and I have no information that tells me where he was prior to that. I know that his wifes family, the Stewarts was in SC in the late 1700's to pre 1810 and also moved to Buncombe in 1810. I am really eager to hear from you and compare info!!! :) Thanks!
