He married Isabella Patterson Burns 14 Jul 1805 in Lanark, Lanark, Scotland. Children were: Sarah D. Cochran b 1806, m. Cornelius W. Burwell 1826 William B. Cochran b 1808 Mary Cochran b 1809 Catherine Euphemia Cochran b 1814 Sarah was noted in her daughter's obituary as having come from New York, possibly around Lansingburg.
