    3. To All Cochran Researchers: I have hit a brick wall in my Cochran research. If anyone can give me any clues that might help, I would appreciate it very much. My fourth great grandfather, David Cochran was born in Maryland. In 1807, I found him on the tax lists for North Mahoning Township, Indiana Co., PA. He had eight children; Matthew, George, James, David, Isaac, William, Rachel and Margaret (Mary Ann). Most of the children married and moved to Jefferson Co., PA David had a brother, Isaac that I found on the tax lists of Wayne Township, Mifflin County, PA. He was listed as a freeman in 1785, 1788-90. Also listed in Wayne Twp. was James Cochran-freeman-1782 and Joseph-freeman 1785-86. James and Joseph could have been brothers but were not listed after that time. Isaac married Sarah McKinstrey of that Twp. and Co. and lived there until after her parents died about 1810. He than moved to Indiana Co., and bought a farm next to his brother, David. It is possible that there were other siblings and that some of them may have moved to N. Carolina or Virginia. I would be happy to share information on this family. Dorrie Moon Moon1@Southwind.net
