He was born in Berkeley County, VA in 1793. He moved as a child to Washington County, PA . He married Anna Biddle Mathers in St. Clairsville, OH and they raised their family moving around that area where PA, WVA, and OH come together. In 1850 they moved to Mahaska County, Iowa." This is my family line (please see some similarities as I am wondering if these two are related or the similarities are coincidence): George W. Cochran born Bet. 1770 - 1780 in Virginia. He had three children, perhaps a fourth: 1. Sarah Cochran born 02 October 1799 in Virginia and died 08 November 1865 in Otter Creek Twp., Linn Co., Iowa. She married James Hemphill, Sr.. 2. George Cochran, Jr. born 07 August 1807 in Berkeley Co., West Virginia and died 12 April 1887 in Otter Creek Twp., Linn Co., Iowa. He married (possibly Mary Glaze in Pickaway Co., Ohio) Hannah Ward in Pickaway Co., Ohio and Susan Gunn in Linn Co., Iowa. 3. Nancy Cochran born Feb 1812 in Pickaway Co., Ohio and died September 1896 in Brush Prarie , Hackinson, Clarke Co., Washington. She married William Ward. 4. (Possible son) Nathan Cochran born Abt. 1815 in Holmes County, Ohio. He married Eliza Ann Nichols in Linn Co., Iowa. Linn Co. is a neighbor to Mahaska Co., and descendants of these Cochrans married into Mahaska County families. I am interested in any lead taking me back to their ancestors, including those bringing my line forward to today's cousins. Terri Rene DaVar-Howard
