    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Cochran/Everett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IMJ.2ACEB/2236.1.1 Message Board Post: Correction to my posts of April 1, 2005: John & Sarah Cochran came from New Hampshire, through Vermont, crossed Lake Champlain and arrived at the Peru, NY Landing in March or April, 1789. These are the correct month(s) and year - not July, 1786. It was Susan Everett's family that arrived in July, 1786 and were the first white settlers in Peru, NY. Susan's family landed at the mouth of the Ausable River, as there was no Peru Landing at that time. Susan Everett married Capt. David Cochran, son of John and Sarah Cochran, who arrived with his family 3 years after the Everett family. I apologize for the previous errors and hope that anyone following this thread will make the proper corrections to their notes.
