There is a land patent deed recorded in the land patent office in Montgomery, AL, for Bibb County, Alabama, which is very near Pickens and Green County, under the name of John W. Cochran on 20, May 1862.------------ It is for 150 and 44/100ths acres. I found my Gr Grandfather, Green H. Cochran, to have had land in Greenville, Butler County, on this site also. I hope that this information will be of use to you.
