I'm trying to find the 1st husband of my ancestor Martha Burdett who along with her mother, also named Martha Burdett were living in Chattooga Co GA in 1870. Martha "Jr." married a man named Cochran by whom she had two children in Arkansas. There were several Cochran families living near them in Chattooga Co GA in 1870, I believe that Martha married into one of these families and then they migrated to Scott Co AR by 1880 where Martha Cochran was listed on 1880 census with two children: Angie Louella Cochran age 7 and Robert Cochran age 6. Is anyone researching Cochrans in Chattooga Co GA? Sincerely, Vickie MillerGet more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

Cochran that you found there in MO. I have been trying to find a William Cochran that is the brother of my grandfather, Charles A. Cochran. They were both in a home for boys in Hartford, CT during the 1880 Census. They were both shipped west and Charles wound up in Iowa. I though that William went to NE, but have found no trace of him. William was born around 1871 in Meriden, CT. Charles was born in 1874 in the same area. Charles wound up in Iowa and South Dakota and then back to Indiana where he died (1953). He is buried in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, IN. Thanks for your help Howard Cochran

He shows up in the 1880 census of Larwence County Missouri with his wife Isabelle (Chidester)who he married in Perry County Missouri in 1874. I found a George Cochran in the same marriage book but can't make a connection. Hiram was born in AR but, his folks both from ILL. I also found William B. Cochran and John A. Cochran close in Larwence County but can't find a connection. Hiram was born in 1848 and died in 1884. His folks might have been from the Jefferson County ILL area but can't make connection. I also have looked in the AR areas but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Hiram was a blacksmith and barber.
