Cochran in Parkersburg WV in the 1920s? He is listed as the "friend" who my wife's g-grandfather and his two eldest children were planning to join when they arrived in the U.S. from Germany on July 4, 1923. They were Wilhelm Emig, 42, Adam Emig, 18, and Anna Emig, 17, from Darmstadt. Wilhelm's wife, Margarete, and two youngest children arrived in New York in November 1923 and joined the others at 1241 Latrobe Street in Parkersburg. I'd like to have any information on I. G. Cochran's business and whether he employed other immigrants, German or otherwise.

SO AMBROSE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS NEPHEW. THEY TOOK IN 3 OF HIS CHILDREN, THEIR NAMES WERE ALTA, KATHERINE AND HARVEY MCDOUGALL. I THINK THAT LOUISA AND MY GRANDMOTHER LILLIAN MIGHT HAVE BEEN RELATED ALSO, MAYBE SISTERS ? MY MAIDEN NAME WAS MCDOUGALL, SO YOUR MOTHER IN LAW COULD BE MY THIRD COUSIN.

I saw your message, but we might not be related. If you would look at my message at RootsWeb of 9 Apr 2002, you will see my line (Henry system which is a little difficult to read on message form): "families of John Coughran d. 1803 PA." If you think there is a possibility, I certainly will read what you send. Of four names whose descendants may have traveled farther west: Francis, Henry, Aquilla, and Clarence Cochran after the Civil War. Their children may have moved passed Kansas farther west. My direct line stayed in Indiana. Warm regards, Richard [email protected]

I ran across the family name Orr and the stowaway story as told by two old (90ish) people related to John and Emma Cochran, homesteaders from Canfield, Idaho. I wrote some stuff for the Cochran website that is my confirmed kin line. Would you like to read my findings? Id so e-mail me. Cheers, Les Graham [email protected]

Alonzo is one such name in my line. I am looking to see if there is overlap between two seemingly independent Cochran clans. I have some stuff written on some very interesting coincidences in the Wash. -Idaho area regarding several Cochrans. Please let me know if you would wish me to E-Mail them for your comment. Others settled near Colfax, Wash. My summary is about 4 pages of text and probably too long for a message board posting. Anyone interested please contact me and I will E-Mail the data.
