He was born Sept. 27, 1988, in Longmont. Scott played soccer and baseball and ran cross country for the Skyline High School teams. He attended Longmont schools and was a ninth-grader at Longmont Christian School. Scott worked last summer at the Boulder County Youth Corps; was a seven-year member of 4-H, most recently the Twin Peaks Fur and Feathers Club; was actively involved in drama; and was very involved with computers. He created his own Web site for 4-H. Scott loved computer games and was very happy to explain all the details to anyone who would listen. He had a thirst for knowledge and read voraciously. He taught himself to read at age 4. Scott had an inquisitive mind about how anything and everything worked. He was always asking questions. There wasn’t an owner’s manual he didn’t love. Scott was a loving, caring and happy son, brother and friend. He had a gift for making people laugh. He had a love for God and a pure Christian soul. Even though he had to endure more than other children, he did it all with a smile on his face. He was satisfied with what he was given and never asked for more. Scott touched a lot of people with his joy and his innocence. His organs were donated according to his wishes. Scott is survived by his parents, Dave and Wendy Reed; his sister, Michelle of Longmont; his grandmother, Virginia Channell of Loveland; his grandfather, Kenneth Reed of Longmont; uncle Gregg Channell and wife Theresa; aunt Christy Taylor and husband Chauncey of Loveland; and numerous other uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. Cremation will follow visitation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Central Presbyterian Church, the Revs. Glenn Perica and Ryan Paulson of Central Presbyterian Church and Donnie Bennett of Longmont Christian School officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Skyline High School Cross Country Team or to the Longmont Christian School Drama Club Scholarship in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, 80501.
