She was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Loveland, to John Calvin Alps and Bessie Bell Curly Alps. She married Victor Barth Sapp in Loveland on Feb 2, 1940. She moved to Jamestown in 1948 from Loveland and had lived there for more than 55 years. She enjoyed sewing and was a skilled cook. She also liked to make ceramics. She attended the Jamestown Community Church. She is survived by her children, Gerald Sapp of Greeley, Derald Sapp of Jamestown, Jack Sapp of Athol, Idaho, Gene Sapp and Dene Sapp, both of Jamestown, Berniece Ferraro-Baker of Longmont, Barthetta Rose of Lafayette and Bonnie Jeavons of Lakewood; brothers, George Alps Sr. of Longmont and John Alps of Madras, Ore.; sisters, Arvilla Gaub of Longview, Wash., and Juanita Abbott of Kelso, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Victor Sapp, and a sister, LaVonia Benson. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Howe Mortuary, 2121 11th St, Boulder. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Howe Mortuary Chapel in Boulder. The Rev. Tom Neal and the Rev. James Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of donor’s choice. The family invites you to a gathering in the Jamestown Town Hall following the graveside service.
