They had one son Carl Melvin Johnson about 1801. (I have more on that side) Family legend has it that Carl Sr. was shot and killed around 1909. Mattie then married William Schatz in Denver, they are my husband's grandparents. I would like to know where and how Carl Johnson died and where he is buried, just to tie up loose ends.
