She was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Lyndon Station, Wis., to Joseph and Lydia (Chalupnik) Parchem. After graduating from high school in La Crosse, Wis., she worked for various doctors in Portage, Wis. She married Emil Meyer on Sept. 10, 1947, in Portage and helped him on the family dairy farm. After their retirement in 1973, they moved to Estes Park, where Mrs. Meyer worked in the hot lunch program for the public schools. She then moved to Berthoud and lived there until 1999, when she moved to Longmont. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and embroidery. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Parchem and wife Catherine of Lyndon Station. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil H. Meyer, July 5, 1997. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 3411 S. Taft, the Revs. David Feeder and John Israel officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
