    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XY.2ADE/486.2 Message Board Post: I am a great-granddaughtr of Griff and Jane Evans. I have been doing research on the family for more than 15 years. Two of my 2nd cousins (also great-granddaughters of Griff and Jane) have been doing family history research as well. We have quite a bit of information which we would be willing to share. Jennie was Griff and Jane's oldest daughter born in 1857. Their other children were: Catherine (Nell) born in 1861, Llewelyn (1862), Evan (1866), George (1871), Florence (1874), and John (1876). Llewelyn was my grandfather. Griff and Jane were both born in Wales and came to Wisconsin with their families. They were married in Wisconsin and went to Colorado in the 1860s. One of the first places they lived was on the homestead originally held by Joel Estes in Estes Park. The book A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains by Isabella Bird gives information about their life since Isabella stayed with Griff and Jane and their family. They lived in several other places in Colorado before setting in Jamestown (Jimtown) and running the Evans House Hotel. I do have pictures of the hotel. One of your other queries referred to Pincher Creek and the Smith family. I just callled my father who is almost 92 years old and he says that Jennie and Dexter Smith lived in Pincher Creek. The other Smiths that you listed are Jennie and Dexter's children. Are you related to Jennie and Dexter?
