"Maggie" Dickerson. Perkins came to Boulder County in June of 1860 and lived in Valmont through the 1860s and 1870s. He and his first wife, Roxena (or Linda), and their daughter, Catherine C. Allen, were founding members of the First Congregational Church of Boulder. I am a descendent of the second child, Edgar Randolph Allen. Roxena Allen died in 1869 and Perkins remarried to Margaret Dickerson August 19, 1871. Perkins started a second family, although Perkins was sixty-four years old. Perkins and Margaret last appear on the Leadville census of 1880 with three children: George E. Allen, Linda Melissa Allen, and E.P. Allen. I have reason to believe that George E. later returned to Valmont in the early 20th century. Linda Melissa married William Reynolds and raised a large family in Salmon, Lemhi County, Idaho. Efforts to locate descendents of Linda and William Reynolds in Idaho are so far unsuc! cessful. I do not know the fate of "E.P." I have no idea why the Allens left Valmont for Leadville and what happened to Perkins and Margaret. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
