I already had the dates and last names of their husbands, but that was about all. tracking down additional information on John has been difficult after he left Wisconsin. Narowing down where exactly he lived helps. Now I can search the stacks here at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin to see what else I can find. With millions of books from every state and most counties it helps to narrow things down a bit. I have his war record since he served here before going to Colorado, church records from St. John's Evangelisch Church, which is still in existence and the church records from Dölitz. He had two brothers that also came to Wisconsin. Michael Frederick b. Sep 22, 1839 d. Nov 15, 1864 in a Confederate prison camp in Salisbury North Carolina. He married Dorthea Louisa Ohm at St. John's Evangelisch Church Dec 25, 1861. They had one child, Emma. Frederick Willhelm b. Oct 3, 1841 d. Jan 9, 1920. He married Michael's widow Feb 2, 1866 at St. John's. They had 8 more children together. Frederick is in my direct family line. He may have had two sisters here too. I am still trying to sort them out though. Thanks Again, Ted
