Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XY.2ADE/409 Message Board Post: Dennis Dailey came to Boulder County in 1859 from Burnett, Wisconsin with the Wisconsin Gold Company, which included seven other men including Mr. Hauck and Mr. Mackey (of the Mackey auditorium). He and his wife Juliette Green Dailey raised seven children on their ranch on Boulder Creek, south of its joining up with the St Vrain. children's names were: Hattie, married to Henry Nelson and removed to SW CO in 1877, Dempster, Hawley, Lulu Ott, Bertie Work, Imogene Baker, and Iver Dailey. Many of them remained in the Boulder-Longmont area--Hawley and Dempster both had elected positions in Boulder County. The old Dailey school is named for Dennis, and he was a member of a militia that protected settlers on Boulder Creek and the St. Vrain. His land, along with Mr. Hauck's land as well as perhaps others, was given to him by Chief Niwot. I have quite a bit of information about this family, but would love to have contact with other descendants of the Wisconsin Gold Company, or perhaps other descendants of Dennis and Juliette Dailey.
