He was born May 3, 1925, in the township of Freedom in Sauk County, Wis., to Fred and Meta Sophia Pfaff Lange. He married Laura Mae Busse on Feb. 1, 1964, in Downers Grove, Ill. Mr. Lange graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Radiology and was head X-ray technician and taught X-ray classes in the Chicago area until moving to Longmont with his family in 1975. He was patient representative for McKee Medical Center in Loveland and started the first Hospice group in the area. He was very involved in the community and after retirement volunteered for several charitable organizations. Mr. Lange is survived by his wife, Laura Lange of Longmont; two sons, David and wife Bobbie of Longmont and Todd and wife Brenda of Vail, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. today at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, with family present to greet friends 3-5 p.m. Interment will be at a later date in North Freedom, Wis. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Longs Peak United Methodist Church building fund or to Hospice of Boulder County in care of Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, 503 Terry St., Longmont, 80501.
