One is : "Boulder County, Colorado / Marriages, Anniversaries, Divorces, Births and Birthdays / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co/July 1991" Another is : "Boulder County, Colorado / Deaths and the Insane / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co / July 1991" And : "Genealogical Abstracts from the Boulder Daily Camera / 1891-1900 / Boulder, Colorado / Mary McRoberts I found- 1."Smith, Dexter A. m 30 Jan 1878 Jennie M. Evans at home of C. J. Evans in St. Vrain Canyon by Rev. L.S. Cornell. (CN 1 Feb 1878:2 ; DWT 6 Feb 1878:2) [CN=Boulder County News ; DWT=Denver Weekly Times ; as to the "C" rather than "G" I've numerous instances of the papers getting initials wrong] 2.This one is a little confusing ; in the index to one book it lists an "Evans,Griff" on page 229 [my grandfather was Griffith Robert Knowles and he was most often called "Griff"] . The only article on that page with a reference to Evans just says Mr. Evans. "Nugent, Jim 'Mountian Jim' killed 29 June 1874 Estes Park by Mr. Evans. Famous mountaineer and guide. Jim had grudge against Evans for years and threatened his life often. He was threatening him at Evans' home, aiming his gun, when Evans killed him. (CN 3 July 1874:2) [CN=Boulder County News] 3.Obit - "Evans, Griffith d 6 July 1900 Jamestown. Death expected. About age 70. Had lived in vicinity of Jamestown 20 years and before that lived at Estes Park. Leaves wife and several children, the youngest about age 30. Fumeral was 7 July in Jamestown. About 1873 he killed "Rocky Mountain Jim' in Estes Park. Created quite a stir at the time. The jury exonerated Evans. Rocky Mountain Jim who was drunk came at him and Evans killed him in self-defense. (HW 11 July 1900:21 BN 12 July 1900:8). [HW=Boulder County Herald Weekly ; BN=Boulder News] 4.Obit (unknown connection; the location caught my eye) - "Evans, Samuel J. d 23 Dec 1900 Jamestown of pneumonia. Age 42 years 9 months 17 days. Single. Funeral at Trezise's parlors in Boulder. Bur Boulder. (HW 26 Dec 1900:5 ; BN 27 Dec 1900:8 ; see Estate Files [HW=Boulder County Herald Weekly ; BN=Boulder News ; "Estate Files"=Mrs McRoberts often adds references to holdings of the Boulder Genealogical Society http://www.rootsweb.com/~bgs/ ]. 5.An abstract from an article in the Boulder Daily Camera quoting a "recent article in the Denver Post" that says Grif [sic] Evans is dead - "He's not. Grif [sic] is the Jamestown hotel man. ( 20 Nov 1895:4) [Boulder Daily Camera ; and it really sounds like the Society has a file on Griffith Evans]. 6.The Lafayette & Louisville Genealogical site has a listing under cemeterys for a Jennie Smith (1860-1926) in Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder. 7.But I have been unable to find any other listing (at the 4 main Boulder sites) for any other name you mention. Makes me believe that post 1926 the families moved out of Boulder County. Hope this helps, David
