Rice, son of Comfort and Lucinda (Wood) Rice. John J. Rice was born in Auburn, MA, 15 Nov 1836. He ended up in Longmont, Colorado and married Georgianna Black on Christmas Eve, 1871, being the first white marriage in the town of Longmont. John J. Rice died 23 Aug 1922 and is buried in the Mountainview Cemetery. I have a newspaper article that was written on 25 Aug 1922 after he died that recounted his life. He had two sons, Harry and Will; a daughter, Georgianna; and a step-daughter, Ida. I would be interested in sharing family info. I am a descendant of John J. Rice's brother, Samuel and have the Rice family back to Deacon Edmund Rice (1638) in MA.
